"Allan Spencer's "Mallet Choir" has thrilled Merced audiences with its virtuosity and animation. The Merced Symphony has featured this mesmerizing 4-person group in our January, '07 Family Concert and our May Chamber Concert.
Mr. Spencer's remarkable arrangements of conventional classics such as Korsokov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" and Beethoven's "Pathetique" result in unforgettable eclectic marimba creations.
This "Mallet Choir's" extraordinary musical proficiency electrifies the audience as they hover over the bars, mallets flying at a high velocity, vigorously striking, gently tapping, filling the hall with the unconventional beauty of the marimba sound."
